Bush, a retired educator and executive director of the Martin Luther King Jr. Coordinating
Committee in West Palm Beach, carries those lessons from her childhood in Alabama with her
today, as she organizes cultural activities, art exhibits and musical program for the youth.
Bush is one of this year's JM Family African American Achievers, who will be honored on April 11 at
the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale. The five honorees were selected from

Colin Brown, president and CEO of JM Family Enterprises, Inc., has announced the 2012 African-American Achievers. The four recipients will be honored for their contributions to South Florida at the 20th annual African-American Achievers awards ceremony on Wednesday, April 11, at 6:15 p.m. at the Broward County Convention Center. This year's Jerome Edmund Gray Youth Achiever award, presented by The Jim Moran Foundation, will also be announced at the event. Read more
